The Talk
I’m the guest speaker at Lake Superior Interfaith Community Church on Sunday, October 16th at 10:30am CST for the worship service. The subject of my talk for the service is "Relational Mindfulness and the Cultivation of Individual and Group Presence". The service is free and open to the public.
I’ll talk about my (ongoing) wholeness journey and soul path, share current inspirations of love and heart-oriented service in the world, and offer practices for cultivating individual and group presence as we explore relational mindfulness in the collective field. I'll also create some live-looping vocal song improvisations.
The Workshop
Following the service, there will be social time downstairs with food and refreshments from 11:30-12:45pm, followed by a 2-hour workshop where participants will practice Relatefulness Fundamentals and group Focus Circles. You don't need to attend the service to attend the workshop.
A 2-hour Circling & Relatefulness Workshop from 1-3pm CST.
$20 (Cash, Venmo, or PayPal), Ages 18+
*We will begin right at 1:00pm. Please arrive 10-15 minutes early.
In this workshop, I invites participants into my unique vibration, flavor and approach to co-creative leadership - heart-centered presence and embodied attunement as portals to more loving and aware connection.
Relatefulness is an evolving set of practices, methods, and collective ways of experiencing and exploring reality with others in the present moment often pointing us toward more truth and love. In relatefulness circles, we enter into a relational meditation (mindful relating) where we practice “the art of being with” – being with ourselves, with each other, and with what arises in the relational space between us. We gather together and practice bringing our awareness to our experience of the present moment, exploring what it’s like to be us in the emerging now.
In a Focus Circle, one person (the Circlee) becomes the focus of the group’s attention. Being with them becomes the breath of our collective meditation. During the Focus circle, we become curious about what it’s like in the Circlee’s world and experience. Participants can ask questions to get a feel for what the Circlee’s present moment experience is like for them (beyond an intellectual understanding). Participants can also share their personal, in-the-moment experience of being with the Circlee as we co-create the relational field.
If you want more love and honesty in your relationships, and to learn to bring presence and authentic expression into connection, this is for you. Circling & Relatefulness can highlight our relational blind spots, help us become aware of our patterns, triggers, shadows, wounds, and adaptive habits, and can have profound impact on our sense of belonging and bring about healing experiences of feeling seen, understood, loved, and whole.
This workshop isn’t group therapy or a healing modality. Still, subtle and powerful transformation, growth, and wakefulness often happen in practicing circling & relatefulness, as we have the opportunity to slow down enough to be with the heart of the moment, and shine the light of awareness on what arises.
